There are components you can count on working thru in most classes. We start with the mobility warm up and move to the dynamic. Then we do some skill work, then the WOD, a cash out and encourage you to stretch. Please know that the two most important components are the first one and the last.
In order to be able to perform your best in life as well as at the gym, you need to be able to move well. It is the mobility at the beginning and the cool down stretching at the end that contribute the most to that, not the work out. Consider your overhead squat. More specifically the bottom of your over head squat. It is a great indicator of where you are with regard to mobility.
Regardless of whether you are stellar in the position or struggling with it, the mobility at the beginning and stretching at the end of class are the most important aspects to make sure you get into your work out. If you are late, do your mobility first and as much of the dynamic as you can before the skill work starts. Right now we are doing a lot of Burgener warm up, so you will get plenty warmed up from that. After class make sure you stretch. If you are not sure what to do, ask for help or do the mobility with static holds. We are seeing quite a few people skipping the mobility warm up unless we lead the group through it and heading out without stretching, and not surprisingly they are some of the same people who have trouble with joint and muscle issues and movement and positioning. Look for your coaches to spend time leading you through these components.
Take care of your body, you are asking a lot from it.
